Hey Satorian's...

One might have noticed a decline in runners over the past 5 weeks time trials.
Quite a number of Satori members entered the Summer Trail Series 2008. Wow, it was stunning!

The Trail Series consisted of five individual trail races between 8-11 km in length at various locations; Silvermine East, Rondevlei Nature Reserve, Silvermine West, Constantia/Newlands & finally Silvermine Homestead.
It was quite a new experience for many of us as the pace was definitely FAST, although Satori didn't fare too badly, Mark Tolsma came 3rd overall in the Veteran Men category.

All race results were recorded so it definitely had a competitive edge, we had pre-race nerves then the most magnificent scenic runs up on Silvermine on top of the world. Rondevlei was a hard, soft-sand dusty run with not a hippo in sight & Constantia was beautiful running through the greenbelt & along Cecilia forest.

The entire series was well organised, had well marked routes & fantastic sponsors as we soon realised it was well worth staying for the prize giving each week (for the spot prizes alone). We've come away with some fantastic memories, up'd our fitness levels, run new routes right on our doorsteps & we have some great photo's!

Go to www.trailseries.co.za & see for yourselves, they're busy putting together the next Winter Trail Series & I'll be first in line to enter.
