Winelands Marathon and Half Marathon
Well done to those brave souls who ventured into the heat and pounded the streets in and around Stellenbosch.
We are still waiting for the official results but Jason Bell-Leask and Dave and Chel Gassner were amongst the Satorians spotted on the day.
Rumour has it that the club captain pitched the gazebo in a field in Caledon and is probably still waiting for the runners to arrive. Can someone please give this man a race schedule and a GPS!
Two Oceans Half Marathon 2012
Entries have closed just nine days after opening! Substitutions can only be done between 2 February and 7 March 2012 so if you have entered but find that when 2012 rolls around you cannot run then let Moira know ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Handicap Time Trial: 7 December 2011
This is your last chance this year and for the foreseeable future to take on the speedsters and win! The run will have a staggered start as per normal kicking off at 6pm. Check the website for your start time. You must have run three time trials in the last quarter to qualify for the competition but even if you haven’t qualified, come along and join in the fun – you just cannot win any of the prizes but the beer will still be cold. 2012 licenses and membership renewal
Membership renewal opens on 1 December and is done via the website. The only exception is for our junior members who do not have a parent as a club member. Hard copy forms are made available to them as we need to get the signature of a parent or guardian. Go to our website and sign up.
Revised fees for 2012:
Family membership: R350 plus running license if necessary – R85. A family membership is for all the people who live in your house and each individual’s information can be entered at one time
Single Membership: R225 plus running license if necessary – R85. Adult, one person membership
Junior Membership: R80 plus running license if required – R45. This membership is just for children who do not have a parent that is a member. If you are a member and your child is also running then you should include their details with the family membership. Please note that in order to purchase a junior running license the club needs a copy of the birth certificate or ID.
2012 licenses will be available from Moira at the club from 7 December 2012 after Time Trial. Please note that no license will be issued until membership renewal and license fee has been paid.
Satori Christmas Party : 10 December 2011
Gather up some friends and come and celebrate the end of the year and the festive season in style. Join us for a fun evening at the Fish Hoek Hobie Club from 19h00.

Club runs
It has been an absolute pleasure organizing and leading the runs in 2011. I have had lonely and busy early morning runs, nervous novices starting on the Monday evening run walk route. I have had old friends joining in and new SATORI Members willingly being dragged along long windy roads.
Especially I would like to commend the courage and persistence of the 'returning" runners who battle their way back from various injuries, illnesses or other reasons for not running. Welcome back and may your running grow from strength to strength.
Pauline, Marci, Becky and Bridget thank you for being ready to lead a run, often on very short notice. Thank you to the entire Chamber's family who have established a lovely tradition amongst our children and for making the Monday run possible in the first place.
I thank all of you who made pounding the tar and the mountain in 2011 a sociable and enjoyable affair...week after week. The pathfinder is taking leave over the school holidays but I will return in mid January 2012 full of energy.
I am wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas and a joyous New Year celebration.

Bridget has running vests (men and women: R140), ladies crop tops (R255) and long sleeved Satori vests (men and women: R245) and caps (R75) for sale every Wednesday at time trial. If you can’t make time trial you can contact her on 0824522860 and make another arrangement.
